Chapter 2 · 2.6
Signing in directly on port 2222
You can also open DirectAdmin directly, without using My WebOké. This is handy if you want to create a bookmark, or if someone else needs to sign in who doesn't have access to your My WebOké. You'll need three things: your server name, your DA user name and your DA password. You can find out where to locate these in Finding your server name and DA user name and Setting or changing your DA password.
The address
The address of DirectAdmin is your server name, with https:// in front and :2222 after it. For example, if your package is on linux2023.webawere.nl, the address is:
https://linux2023.webawere.nl:2222
That 2222 is the port number of DirectAdmin. Without that number, you won't reach DirectAdmin, but an ordinary web page instead.
Signing in
- Type the address into your browser's address bar and press Enter.
- Enter your DA user name in User Name (1).
- Enter your DA password in Password (2).
- Click Sign In.

The sign-in screen follows the language of your browser. If it's in English, the fields are called Username and Password and the button Sign in. In the top right (3), you can choose a different language.

The top right also has three small buttons for light, automatic and dark mode. These let you choose how the screen looks.
Creating a bookmark
Feel free to bookmark the address, for example https://linux2023.webawere.nl:2222. Don't bookmark the address you see after signing in via My WebOké: that contains a one-time sign-in key and won't work later.
Please note: If you enter the wrong password several times in a row, the server will block your IP address for a while. This protects your package against intruders. You can read how to lift such a block in Solving login problems.
Tip: Do you get a message saying the connection isn't secure, or doesn't the page load? Check that you're really using https:// and have added :2222 after the server name. On some company networks and public wifi, port 2222 is closed. In that case, sign in via My WebOké: that always works.
