Chapter 5 · 5.9
Email and domain forwarding
With forwarding, you automatically send something to another location. An email forwarder sends mail for an address on your domain to another, existing email address. A domain redirect sends visitors from a path on your domain to another website.
Go to My Domains, the Forwarders tab, and select your domain at the top. What you see next depends on the type of domain.
Your domain is part of a hosting package
If the domain is part of a web hosting or email package, you manage forwarding in DirectAdmin, the control panel for your package. Click DirectAdmin openen (1) and you'll be logged in straight away. With Help: create forwarding, you'll open an article in the knowledge base that explains step by step how it works.

You can read more about DirectAdmin in the DirectAdmin manual.
Your domain is registered only
If you only have the domain name with WebOké, without a package, you'll see two sections on this tab, if forwarding is available for your domain:
- Email forwarders: under New email forwarding, enter the address on your domain and the destination address, then click Add. Use Delete to remove a forwarder again.
- Domain forwarding: under New domain redirect, enter the path and the destination URL (with https://) and choose the Redirect type. Choose Permanent (301) if the redirect is here to stay: search engines will follow it. Choose Temporary (302) only for a redirect you plan to remove later.
Please note: forwarding to free email services such as Gmail, Outlook and Hotmail is blocked. These services often treat forwarded mail as spam, which means you could miss messages. If you want reliable mail on your own domain, take a look at WebOké's email package.
Do you see the message Forwarding is not available for this domain? Then the domain isn't on a server where we can set up forwarding. In that case, get a package or ask support for advice.
