Chapter 6 · 6.4
Viewing your storage: what counts and what doesn't
You can see how much space you're using in two places: in your Nextcloud itself and, if you're the administrator of the package, in My WebOké.
In your Nextcloud
In the Files app, you'll see how much you're using at the bottom left (1), for example "5.8 MB of 1 TB used". The bar underneath fills up as you store more.

Want to know which folders are the largest? Look at the Size column in the list and click the column header to sort by size. The size of a folder is everything it contains.
In My WebOké
Are you the administrator of the package? Then, in My WebOké, under My Products and your Nextcloud package, you'll see at the top, under Storage, how much space is being used across the whole package and how much storage your package has.
What counts and what doesn't?
| Counts | Doesn't count |
|---|---|
| Your own files and folders | Deleted files |
| Files that others put in your shared folders | Older versions of files |
| Uploads via your file requests and links | Files someone else shares with you (these count towards the owner) |
| Photos your phone uploads automatically | Team folders (these don't count towards one person) |
You can read more about sharing and storage in Anyone using shared files uses your storage.
Tip: if you use the desktop app with virtual files, your files take up little space on your computer. This doesn't change the storage used in your Nextcloud. See Virtual files: see everything, only download what you open.
